I've been looking at this Woodland Weekends place on Google Maps, and I can't find Slade Woods anywhere.

Here's where I'm looking, but it seems to be a patch of woodland in the middle of a farm. Is this the entirety of the woodland or do they have like an "off-site" place too?

At the mo, as I said, what I know I have put on here, it is not a part of the normal Camping area, its a separate woodland, and as per his email already quoted

"I’ve talked and thought and yes we’d be very happy to accommodate you and the Suffolk Bushcraft Group. You could book a wood and have a 1000 acres to roam in, you could glean some timber for use while you’re here and we’d do it for £10 per person which would really just be an admin cost for us. Let me know what you think and if you want to come up for a rece first."

Now I have paid the deposit I would Imagen that they will get back with more details, I will update as and when I know what they are. I have booked a woodland with them and they have called it Slade Wood.

Sorry, Stuart... I should've read it again before posting (I've been up two straight days so my brain isn't 100% right now)

Looking forward to more details :)

That's OK, I am just trying to find a good Woodland that we can use at a good rate, I've spoken to many of them over the a fair few months, this is one that I have spoken to before and, looked ok, but at the time was more interested in pod camping, when I knew about Orchards going out the window started to call the best ones and came up with it...

3 Nighter Mothly Suffolk Bushcraft Meeting 3rd to 6th May 2013

This is a new site that I have not seen...

For those already in the list please can you ammend.

Booked with Woodland Weekends near Bury St Edmaunds. This will be a Three Nighter for those that want it - I am going straight from work on the Friday, but arrival after midday is good.

All Welcome,Newbies, all levels of experiance, Tree and Ground Dwellers.

http://www.woodlandweekends.co.uk/

The charge is £10 for the two nights or £15 for 3 nights, (if you want to stay 1 night then I am afraid for this one, it will stil be £10 the cost is being dictated by the site at the mo..) - I have just had to pay a Deposit to secure the site... so I hope its a good one...

We will be allowed to glean Wood from the site,

There will be a Saturday Night Group Meal, made this time by Kirkland as he has offered, Thank you for the offer Kirkland.

This is in a Woodland that is not camped by anyone else as far as I am aware there are no toilets, other then the main camp site, I do not know how far away these are, I will try to find out more...

Water will need to be taken In for the weekend as I belive there is not a Tap...I am asking if there is one that we may use.

Of course Photo's and the Micky being taken is compulsory ....

And Fluffy Hot water bottles/slippers are welcome.....

Also don't forget, people do bring swaps and items for sale so a meet can be a great place to get some kit..

This is going to be wild camping in a real woodland not on their main Campsite.... I am not sure what the veichleur access is at the moment it may be a short walk....

If you plan to attend, then Paste and Copy the Whole Post and place name on bottom of list, adding also if you require the Group Meal, and how many nights your staying.

If there is any activity you would like to do, just add it to the list, hopefully someone will be able to help, or you could show someone what to do.. :). If I remember right someone did say they would like a go at spoon carving, so no doubt that will be on the list .

List of Attending
1. Big Stu - 3 nights - Group Meal
2. SJStuart - 3 Nights (definite)
3. Roman - 2 nights definite maybe 3
4, mitch66 -2-nights definte maybe 3
5. Zeon98 - 3 nights
6. Mikesmith777 - 3 (nights- provisional)

7. Reamvi Thantos - Friday and Saturday Group meal. Like to suggest having a go at natural shelter building, i'll leave further poon carving until i get a spoon knife sorted.

Please can everyone update the list if you wish to participate in my curry culinary delight. It will be a medium hot lamb curry with rice and nan breads. I intend to cook it at home ahead of time and freeze and take it to site to heat up as this will allow the flavours to mature as opposed to being a harsh raw cooked character, trust me i'm semi professional in curry cooking. I will advise those participation on the divided cost of group meal as soon as we have the numbers of diners :). I'm also very much looking forward to this one, the site sounds very promising. Once again many thanks to Stu for your perceverence in finding a suitable location for us, very much appreciate your hard work especially since you have been so busy.

I'll do a fresh stir fry on one night (if we can decide between the three of us which night each meal will be, that'd be great). My stir frys are somewhat famous amongst my friends. Fresh chicken, great selection of vegetables, noodles, and the most delicious sauces used throughout.

I've never made enough for 7 people in one batch before (a full wok will serve 4 or 5, but I can do two batches so that's no big deal really)

Obviously using fresh meat and veg will either mean I go to buy the ingredients on that day, or somehow have to keep them fresh for however many days/nights.

No charge for my meal, either... so all are welcome :)

P.S. I'm also up for the other meals too (and will chip in on ingredients as always)

I'll be taking in addition to my bottled ruck sack x3 litres a further 20 L in a plastic gerry can. I think others will be taking similar and i understand there is a lake in relative close "foraging" distance for me to help you out as i am bringing my Katadyn filter then you just need container to store and billy to boil safe. Hope this helps zeon.
