Hi Al, yes indeedy! BBQ memphis sticky beef, cuban smoked pork, a whole lamb with all the trimmings, a huge hearty casserole, and no doubt more bacon eggs and sausages than you can shake a stick at!

Oh and your snoring spot, consider it done sir!

Any chance you can get a 6kg piece of pork from your nice butcher man, and we will square up upon arrival?

Already spoken to big Al about the pork so ordering it tomorrow. Wouldn't mind visiting the medieval village again but might be too stuffed. It's an easy stroll from Hound Tor car park.

Thanks Steve, we will! Hope to get you and yours down this way some time.

Cheers Alistair, i knew you would come good, and depending on which day the Houndtor thing happens, i would be more than happy to impart my bullsh1t! sorry local knowledge, as Skate says it's not a bad walk down there and lots of breathtaking views etc. Now a real walk would be, to trek across to Haytor Down, pick up the granite railway from the quarry and follow it all the way back to camp, what do you guys think?

That way we could make the Greenman really jealous.

All this talk of walking sounds like I might be in serious danger of losing some weight!! I think I'll stay in camp and tend the spit roast...

Don't you worry Mr Webster, there are the walking gang, and more importantly the , keep the home fires burning, spit turning, stew stirring and gently drinking gang and your name has been put down for the latter, thank you for volunteering.

I have spoken to the whole catering crew, and they are more than happy to share the woodland kitchen with your good self.

Anyway 9 days and counting, and if PM correspondence is anything to go by, we are in for a vintage meet, reminiscent of of the early summer ones at Farkham Hall.

Can't wait.

Ivan...

Ps there are a few coming down on the Thursday 21st, so if anyone else wants to or can, in true Lesley Crowther fashion "come on down"

Ivan...

All we want now is the DNP to confirm their attendance to make it a truly memorable affair!

Bum! I thought I was first to arrive on Thursday night. I was going to nick your spot and rent it back to you. Not many spots you can pitch your beautiful Bell........... tent!
Not another week off Mr. W? No wonder my contract is so expensive.

Beer is already packed and Steve and I will be drowning our sorrows as we just had notice that our canoeing plans are cancelled!
The damn lakes haven't defrosted as yet so that means I'll have 10 days listening to Steve moan about my bad planning yet again.

It's hard being in a civil partnership you know :joke:

I some how wonder, if this next week is going to drag a little for a few? I know it is for me, everything is in place for a vintage meet, hopefully this horrible weather will pass in time for the festivities.

Hey Richie, seeing as your planning skills are as good as ever! Re the frozen thing, maybe we can do something to appease the Scotsman, by organising a few days away, i can think of another member who might be able to wangle it?

Darren, what ever you bring to the party, in the sharps department will be interesting.

I think everybody has got the directions, if not shout!

See some of you on Thursday morning, can't wait.

Hey pop pickers
I am starting a kit pile in the kitchen Just to annoy the woman who lives with me
We are still going to Sweden just not canoeing on the lakes we had planned
Who knows what horseyphallus has planned As usual I just follow on with a belle indifference getting the blame for everthing
I know my place
I have found a rather nice pink gentleman's nocturnal bottle for the Greenman. Pity he is off on some hare brained scheme in Asia. Oh well I believe they are rather good on the laundry front so that will be a blessing for the Beijing Belle
See y'all Thursday evening
