Winter foraging?

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
There are still edible fungi around, I suppose. Jelly ear, and that sort of thing. There are probably some sloes in a few sheltered spots, and I've seen some rose hips in reasonable condition recently. Not a lot about though really, at least that I can think of. I suppose some of the later apple varieties might still be around, and if you get a windy day, you might get some pine nuts from cones (I have a Stone Pine near me, which is the species to look out for).

I suspect 'foraging' for squirrel would probably be more productive.
