what i have just noticed is the middle led is very bight on its own and when you turn 3 on its no brighter the led either side of it seem more like reflectors than leds, im looking into this far too deeply ill get my coat.

Been keeping an eye on these things http://www.potenco.com/home , that have been developed to generated power for the One Laptop Per Child project.

Seem to have been in R&D for ever, but now they've atleast got some claims for the product. 1min pulling gives 1hr LED flashlight use.

i work at millets and these torches are good for about 10 hours then they become crap, if you read the find print on the box it says "pre charged dynamo" once this charge runs out after a while it takes more enerngy, time, to get even a decent light
