I saw this pretty fellow today - about 4" high with 1/4" flowers and 2" leaves. I've checked my books but can't get a positive ID - can anyone help?
Red
Red
I agree. It's common Lungwort. The flowers can be very variable. All the way from pinky red to blue.Goose said:If it has spotty leaves it could be common lungwort, just a guess though!
Always the same isn't it? At least we know our place, and our uses!!Goose said:By the way I should mention it was SWMBO that IDed it, while I was sent to make the coffee!
Yeah, me to......Doh...Toddy said:Well, y'know, you'll remember this one

Because Red said there were no spots on the leaves, I was looking at others it could be, and hounds tounge likes chalky soil, as what Red is on, but its a taller plant....We get lots of green alkanet round here, but I could see it was not that...Toddy said:I didn't know what Hound's tongue looked like so I've learned something too. The flowers do look similar in the photos.
