Last Friday I packed all my gear up in my car and off I went to Swynns New Year Hoot. Got there safely and set everything up and thought... time for a brew, asked Grebby if he fancied a brew as well so I picked up the case for my gas stove (one of these) and opened it up.......... only to find I'd picked up my cordless drill  instead. No way would that make me a brew let alone cook my dinner. Luckily I had my honey stove with a trangia stove so all was not lost.

But it got me thinking.... what have you taken on an outing by mistake and left yourself wondering.... Why the hell did I take that?:confused:

the instructors at a bush craft course i attended told us a yarn whilst talking about the kit list apparently someone turned up with a petrol chainsaw but to top it off he never brought any petrol for it and drove a diesel car :-D

Thats very :lmao:funny. I can't think of anything, but I'm sure this will happen someday, good planning on your part for having a back- up. Good old honey stove.

Not had any real nightmares but I do have a tendancy to over-pack. What I will say though is if you can only find your steel toe-caps the morning your going to take a trip to Ben Nevis, its definately worth the effort of finding your walking boots. (The agony!!!)

I went to a meet once and tried to phone my wife to say I arrived OK, only to discover I'd picked up the TV remote. That was in the days when mobiles were fairly chunky.

I'm disappointed Steve! - I was expecting you to say you used it the make a hi-tec bow drill to create an ember with no exertion ;) :D

Sorry to hear about that, but it did make me laugh (sorry to say).
Cant say ive ever done anything like that myself...yet.

Atleast you'll check from now on though :lmao:

So... you picked up the wrong box and fortunately you had a back-up.

It wasn't so much an emergency ...

but more of a drill?

(Sorry couldn't resist. Coat time?)
