'' This thread is like a bloody Morrissey song!

Get a grip people, perspective is what is called for. Think of the 92+ families in Finland right now, all those young people butchered.

So, your job is crap, change it. You need more money, get a second job. You need 'me' time, stop being so selfish. I have been incredibly moved by the stories from some very young adults on that island, you want some more time eh? They wanted to see their friends grow up and laugh and have fun.

I was going to apologise for appearing overly harsh, but I won't because actually I'm not. Perspective. ''

i don't think you can equate the events in "finland " with this thread. perspective is all well and good, we all have bad days/weeks... then the next day we realise what we have and are thankful for. i'm sure everyone on this forum is saddened and horrified by the events in "Norway" , but that should not stop people supporting one another in anyway shape or form .

The only thing I can say in response to this thread is to pass on a couple of quotes and hope someone can take something from them:

"The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes." John Maxwell

"We find only the world we look for" Henry David Thoreau

Words which you could change your life.

I couldn't stand my job either. What did I do? I worked DOUBLE for the last 8 months. No bush days, no traveling, but I'm off the chain fellas!!!! :D for at least a year or two, or maybe forever. I saved up a load, left the job, moved out of town and now working on a new place where woods are minutes away. That's where I grew up, that's where my parent live. I have my own land, can do whatever I want. And I don't miss town I tell you :)

I think that's awesome and I just wish I had the ability and perseverance to follow in your example! I really hope your hard work leads to the life that you want and well done for doing it.

I'm from Yorkshire, lad.
I have come to the conclusion that my life is dull boring and weather i like it or not im part of the rat race.....

i work my butt of for my boss and what do i get, well done keep it up, which i do, again keep it up, while others just trudge along i get to do all the hard work, for what, WELL DONE, i hate my job, and now i might be made redundant, i might hate my job but i still need it.....

life is so, just pants at the moment....

does anyone feel the same????

on a pluss note im of to the woods 2moz.....:):):):):):)

Work isn't supposed to be fun mate. If it was, we'd do it for free.:)

Maggot, I think you need to revise your "version" of the term, perspective. ;)

Great quotes there GLS.

I'm currently unemployed and skint. Skint compared to how well off I used to be, with money I couldn't spend before the next pay day.

I get occassional work now and again but like many folk today I'm in the quest for regular work.

Luckily, I don't nor ever really did, have a lavish lifestyle but have had to tighten the belt a bit.

My family have their health, my dog still loves me, I've made good friends on here, I've got great neighbours, a flat that needs tidying and I volunteer 5 days a week on a charity farm.

Right now I'm making most of my enforced free time (except tidying my flat) and to be honest I've never been happier.

I tend to think of life as a game of snakes and ladders, some years are good, and sometimes you just have to start again.

Cheers

Chris,

Are you still serving? If you are how about applying for other / specialist work? There's quite a lot out there if you do a bit of digging. Commissioning, SF, Aircrew, PTI,
language courses, survival instructor, careers advisory to name but a few. Don't be scared to ask you might find something exciting.
