Hi folks, a chap who is a friend on facebook posted these pics today, he was asking if there had been any big cat sightings recently in the borders, as he saw these in his drive.

So could they be big cat tracks? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I am very sceptical, thats why i post the pics. Though the guy said he got up and there they were, and he does'nt come across as the pratical joker type.

So maybe someone taking the p*** out of him, for a laugh, who knows.

Cheers Stuart.

I remember reading something about human tracks in sunshine melting around the edges and becoming bigger. This led to human tracks being misidentified as yeti.
So I'm thinking 'I 'tink I saw a puddy cat'.

I'm thinking the same..If you look at the first photo, the snow has a "see through" edge to it around the car where it is thawing, in fact if you lifted the car away it would appear that a very much larger vehicle had been parked there. The close up photos of the tracks show a similar thawed edge. I'd guess fox, before the thaw set in. :)
