What wildlife did you spot today?

  • BushMoot: Come along to the amazing Summer Moot 31st July - 5th August (extended Moot : 27th July - 8th August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
on saturday i collected two trail cameras in an area where we recently lost two cameras to *****poachers (presumably because that particularly model of camera had a green LED come on at night when activated), on the way back i encountered 3snakes engaged in what i presume was a mating ritual. yesterday we checked the memory cards: 1ocelot, a family of coatis, a northern tamandua and a paca (?) sticking it's nose into the camera -- fortunately no more evidence of poachers

Yesterday: Three Roe Deer,1 Buck, 2 Does. A group of around 10 Teal. A fantastic flush of Golden Plover. A Tawney Owl that seemed fascinated by me! Numerous Buzzards and the amazing sight of a Goshawk hawking the ground.

I'm not saying it been very wet, our road is bad and it's unseasonably warm but I've just rescued a newt from a flooded pothole outside our house. I may have to keep an eye on all the other potholes for frogspawn soon.

Thousands of cranes flew over all day today, heading north.........reckon they're impatient to reach their summer grounds. It was a beautiful day though. You hear them long before you see them
