Thought I'd learn some more about the Firebox stove and have a play in the garden using Kiln dried Birch.
We buy these at Home Bargains for £3:99 a sack to use in the garden Chimineas I welded up
I normaly burn them as they come but cut a couple into x3 and split them to fit the Firebox
This is my every day home stove Axe. I spotted it in a builders merchants for £7 a few years ago but the head was painted blue and it had a fiberglass shaft epoxied on, soon sorted that out
The Bear set up the Bistro
I keep a few Sulphur matches Flint and steel and some odd bits of Jute twine in a tinter tin but the Char cloth and Amadou lives in a tin kept on the house stove so that it's always dry (just have to remember to put some in the tinder tin when I go out)
This is good for making a 'nest' as it's fine and oily
some strips of Birch bark
and rolled into a 'nest'
the camera thought I wanted to focus on the Flags but the Amadou caught 2nd flick
into the nest and blow
mind the beard
a few thin strips of Birch bark and some thin sticks
fit the boil plate then on with the Stanley
feed a few more sticks
and 3 minutes 50 seconds later
made x2 cups Russian Caravan and took 1 in for Mrs QDanT
swapped the boil plate for the grill plate ond on with a Sausage
did one for Mrs QDanT and came back with an Avocado + Lemon juice
took the grill plate off and stoked it up
Avacado skins look like a Toad cooking
Cheers All
I then played about with bigger pieces of Birch
and had a few more beers. It's a hard life but someone has to do it
