Hi everyone :D

Thanks for all the info :) Got lots to research now :) Im loving the Gwalia Farm place, already spoke to them and they said we'd have the whole place to ourselves and they allow dogs, which is awesome! Think we're going to go there first for a few nights and then move on to somewhere else :) Thanks for all your help :) x

Gwalia Farm looks great, did not know about it so will be storing that one. As you're there you should spare some time for the Centre for Alternative Technology - well worth a visit.

If you do go through Llangollen, the ruins Hamish mentioned are those of Castell Dinas Bran or Crow Castle as its known locally. A short sharp climb to the top from the town is well worth the effort.

Try and spend some time in the Tanat Valley which is just over the hill south of Llangollen. It is so peaceful even in the height of summer. Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant is lovely and there is a peaceful little church called Pennant Melangell, two miles west of Llangynog which has a special atmosphere, very isolated on a bronze age religious site with huge yew trees said to be 2,000 years old. A little walk from there gets you to a waterfall that is far less well known than Pistyll Rhaeadr.

Have a great time.
