Tried this recipe for a Recent Ice-fishing trip, love it!
1lb Ground Venison ( deer.moose, elk, etc..) I used Buffalo!!
6 strips Bacon, diced
1 Diced/Sliced onion
2 cans Beans in tomato sauce
1 can Kidney Beans, Drained
1/2 cup Ketchup
1 tb Prepared mustard
1/4cup Brown Sugar
In a Cast iron Dutch oven or large Frying pan, Start cooking the Bacon, when the fat starts coming out, add diced onion. Cook for a few minutes ( till the onion turns clear) Then add the Ground Venison and break up with a fork.
When Browned, Drain a bit of fat if you want, then add everything else.
Simmer about 1/2hr.
Then Pig-right-out!!!
Just a guide line, maybe add tabasco or chilli powder if you want.
It helps that I was standing alone on a frozen Lake Isle afterwards, as I was re-inacting that Farting Campfire scene in BLAZING SADDLES.
Try it people, it's easy and VERY GOOD!
