I keep finding pigeon clays lying around. Bright orange one side, black the other, saucer shaped, useful looking.

So other than saucers/plates, what can you do with them (broken or unbroken) ?

I'd be interested to know. I picked up a big stack after the gun club came up mine on a Sunday morning. I'm using one as an ash tray.

you could keep a few when you make birch tar pitch, if you find a lot, and lots, put them in a cement mixer to break and soften the edges and put them in your garden, mixed bed, or create a small path. I once came to a small dissused shed full of broken clays in the woods.

They do break down in the wet.....not sure why that would be handy.....make a very funny visitors soup bowl though!
