UK Pen Knife question.....

Quick question for my British Brothers/Sisters. I lost my Spyderco Caly lock back a while back. Sad....... very, very SAD. It's been discontinued by Spyderco, but the UK pen knife is still around here . I don't really care if the blade locks or not, my main question is this:

Being a friction folder, is it hard to open it one handed? The Caly seemed to be on rollers almost. Very easy to open. I have NO problem using a good knife that doesn't lock..... I just wonder if I may need to do "thumb exercises" to open it.

The UKPK is easy enough to open with one hand, does take a bit of getting used to though! It is easier if you make a point of opening it with one movement if that makes sense? But I have never really thought it a struggle to open even with the inherant friction.

Dead easy to open. You can even do the Spyder-flick with a bit of practice.

it's not a friction folder though, just a penknife with a retaining backspring
