Soulo flysheet and poles weighs 1.3Kg or roughly 3 pounds. Condensation will be an issue in any single skinned nylon tent.

Thanks, much appreciated. That's why I've been reluctant to pull the trigger. I've been spoiled by my ridiculously ventilated tarp tent.

Been a great read so far. I hope to be able to make a winter trip this year but got to see how work goes. Will need to have a chat sometime about your experiences and see how they differed from mine, hope to do a bit of travelling on the next trip.

Excellent trip report, as usual, Bob. The dull overcast is bad enough on its own but coupled with the 'warmer-that-feels-colder' weather must be a great de-motivator. A bit of sunshine would have worked wonders.
