I expect Corso’s correct as far as any practical aspects. For me it’s just that I grew up with OH being the common knives in almost every family member’s kitchen. The newer ones are likely just as good despite their thinner blades: they just don’t feel “normal” to me personally.

In the search for a trade knife pattern, I remembered Marcin from Custom Blades EU, I bought one of his blade blanks before (still have not finished it), and was quite impressed.

So looked at his site and there is a steak knife that he makes with a flat grind and 3mm stock, looks to be very close to what I have been looking for and very good price, so bought it

Yes, I saw that a while ago, but not the blade shape I wanted, and not cheap

Russell White did a fixed blade knife kit back in the day, I seem to think that Stu m gave him a hand with them and that they were in sf100 stainless.

Somone put the pathfider one up today

Jeff White pathfinder/self reliance outfitters knife

So weakness has hit, I ended up just purchasing it. Just need to make another sheath for it, as the one that came with it is not quite right.
