Tinder in the tumble dryer

I was picking off the dry fluff that builds up on the filter my tumble dryer the other day and I wondered if this stuff will ignite easily? I tried a small piece and it went up with just one strike from the steel. A cheaper alternative to cotton wool balls plus a100% recycled material. What more could you ask for. Give it a go. It's ideal for fire starting.

Do a search for Drier Lint and I reckon you will get quite a few results on this forum.;)

I use it all the time. I did have a really good stash but the wife threw it all away thinking i was just being lazy.

The only failing I have found of dryer lint is it is really absorbent. So if you take it into a humid or damp environment it stops working pretty sharpish.

That's true of things like charcloth as well of course.

If I were headed to a jungle I'd probably go with Vaseline cotton balls and a ferocium rod. But where you have the capacity to keep your tinder fully dry, dryer lint does indeed work.

Has anyone tried belly button fluff. If you we're in a big group you might be able to collect enough. Just a thought albeit a silly on.
