From the sound of it it's intended for the sort of jobs my wife uses a bilhook for, she finds it much easier than an axe.

Sticking to axes though, I'm surprised nobody has suggested the GB Wildlife hatchet, very under rated in my opinion.

The wildlife hatchet is expensive when compared to the husky hatchet, which does the same job just as well :)

The outdoor axe is on my "to get" list :)

I nearly commented about a billhook being maybe more use for her too.
One of my friends uses hers instead of an axe, and it gets a 'lot' of use. Everything I can do with the axe, she does with the billhook, and she does prepare firewood every day too.

The wildlife hatchet - hultafors hatchet or a husquvarna hatchet would be my suggestion.

That said a bill hook may well be a viable alternative - keeping an eye on ebay would eventually surface a relatively small one.
