hi has anyone seen the tarp dvd from backpacking light..and is it worth 8 pounds..thought i would give it a go & practise with my tarp...atb shogun

i found it quite informative, atm however i can't find the flippin thing!
its knocking around somewhere...

good instruction on knots etc and you do learn a bit about different setups.

the sound on mine is very sporadic. (ie. goes mute throughout the whole recording) That said, I have the CD Rom version which arrived free with my Big Tarp.

Incedently: I ordered some new stuff from Backpackinglight a week ago and I haven't heard a sausage. I've tried emailing and ringing them but there is no answer. Does anyone know what's going on with them? Cheers..........hc

Hi,

Ive got the Tarp DVD and its a decent informative watch. Basic knots youll need and 3 setups to go for. You can find most of this stuff kickin around the net if you look hard enough. Dont expect a Blockbuster movie though.

Hi John. Yes I'm surprised too. There's nothing on their website or answer messaging service to say why they've dissapeared off the face of the earth with my order! Let's just hope everything is ok. Normally they are pretty good and they seem to have a reasonable reputation. It's been over a week now since I ordered....hc

Bob from BPL called today which was great. Very nice chap. Turns out they have been snowed in/out but they are all ok except for the chaos of not being able to do any admin or deliveries. Glad everything is ok. Family businesses are so vulnerable. I run a small landscaping company and we have managed 2 days on the tools this year! I don't get paid to do paperwork. My suppliers and the IRS will not except the Big Freeze as an excuse, so as far as they are concerned they will be paid on time. Boy my cash flow is not good at the moment. Gulp.

RE: The Tarp DVD/CD Rom problems. Bob has shown me how to sort out the sporadic sound problem. Now I own a perfectly clear and enjoyable "instruction manual". Technophobe me.

It may be worth the purchase (DVD), but you get a free CD Rom anyway if you buy a Big or Little Tarp. Both of those come highly recommended by me and loads of others. Splash out - They are well worth it.......hc
