Thanks! I haven't really given the bow drill a proper go since about September. This is the tipping point because now I know I can do it.

That said i'm not looking forward to the inevitable inexplicable failure to come.

Well done, I remember my first ember I was running around the house telling everyone. A good tip for next time is not to use different woods for the drill and hearth. It makes things far more complicated for you. Just make the drill and hearth from the same stick
