Done up bootlace style and incorporating a welt. Its cut in one piece. the only equipment needed are scissors and a punch. I got tired if waiting to win some leather stuff on ebay. It aint pretty but serves well enough.

Nice one I did something similair but glued and stitched it. MKII I hope will be good enough to photograph
