No Tony, I did check, the original links (there's a copy in Removed Posts) were to his benefit.

If the forum now changes those so that any Amazon link helps pay the server costs, then that's a good thing :D

I think it's a shame. I was actually minded to give this a go. I found a cheap cammo tarp to start off with.

How about starting, as Toddy and Corso suggested, a "Can I kit out for under £50"? Post links to the products, but as a decent bloke, you'll not be creaming a bit off it. It's a good idea for a thread. Maybe an item list?

Okay….so,

A tarp (and some line)
A mat or small groundsheet
A sleeping bag or quilt or blanket ?
Cagoule (It's the UK, the chances of it not raining are minuscule  )
Something to carry it all in.
Folding saw.
Headtorch or other light source (wee cheap leds are pretty good these days)
Knife.
Mug, bowl, kfs
First Aid kit (including something for removing ticks)
Firelighting
Anti biting insect stuff.
Brew up stuff.
Food and munchies.
Wash kit.
Some way of making sure you have clean drinking water, so fine hankie or bilbank type bag maybe ?

Anything else ?
