I have been making my own kit for over 30 years, did some design work for Craghoppers and Snowdon Clothing (among others) and love sewing :)
To be fair with that history I should be better than I actually am ... I "talk" to my sewing too much!
As to the weight - it needed losing!
Even if my wife denies that I have any "will-power" she does admit that I can be stubborn once I decide on something.
I only have 4lb to go to my "Target Weight" and I am looking forward to some filing meals :)

A couple more photos of the Twill and blanket body warmer and some of my latest piece - a Blanket and Ventile "Fleece Jacket...
and that should be the mid-wear done!
Next off the sewing machine should be a "Pocket Vest" in the twill, then it will be time for me to look at shirt patterns, specifically at one for a heavy woolen shirt from a Merino blanket that I have sitting looking innocent:)

The colour of the Fleece is a bit patchy - or an interesting "marl" - depending on how you think of it .... good enough for the woods whatever your viewpoint!

Love that smock!!! You've done brilliantly losing that much weight!! Don't go OTT tho and never mind the BMI which is no more than a guidlguideline

I just reached "Healthy Weight" according to the BMI ... 3lbs to go to my target weight - that gives me some "bounce room" for when I quit the diet!
I am currently 10st 10lb - down from 16st 9lb - as I am only 5'5" (165cm) tall you can see I was carrying too much fat...
More bits coming off the cutting room table - just finished a "Pocket Vest" (with which I struggled and made some "during construction" changes to ... a bit rough around the details but OK for the woods...) - I have also just finished draughting a pattern for a pullover shirt and am getting the bits together for making the mock up (everything starts as a mock up or "toile" but if it is OK then it gets worn anyway....

I really like the look of those shirts.
Thanks to you and your weight loss I put myself on a diet. 15 stone 5 now but need to loose at least a stone. thankfully I've got a lot of smaller waist trousers from years ago !!!

Thank you folks :)
The next item to come off the mill will be some trousers in the brown twill - unless I stuff them up completely...
Then a short break while I get some stuff made for my Craft Sales Stock for next season before I nerve myself to start making up some items in Ventile - at £36 per meter!
I dare not make a mess of that!

Oh, that explains quite a bit

I am just about to order another Hilltrek coat ... just got to decide on the colour ... navy blue or royal blue ... what do you reckon? I have so many green clothes they kind of camouflage each other and get lost in the wardrobe

(That blanket and ventile jacket is a coup :))

And here they are!
The pattern needs a couple of minor tweeks - but the twill toile is good enough to wear...
And just dig that co-ordinated look:)PA250064.JPG PA250065.JPG PA250066.JPG PA250067.JPG PA250068.JPG PA250069.JPG

Really like the jacket and most certainly the trousers. What size trousers are you now???
Can you please put up a photo of back of jacket?

The twill pocket vest is a dream. Wonderful design and color.
I might have a fight with the buttons with gloves on but can't think of a convenient closure.
