for the first time since i was 3 i'm sat with a cup of slightly brown hot water, sorry, tea trying to drink it. i've read on loads of sites that green tea is good for burning fat so i've resolved to learn to like it but as far as i can tell it has no flavour just a smell, and i can't figure out why so many people drink it?

Lol, I've been on the green tea too for about two weeks - replacing all but my morning cup of Joe, although tbh I'm not noticing any caffeine withdrawal symptoms.

As you say, there are plenty of reasons why we should imbibe; raises metabolism, full of antioxidants and other good stuff, lowers blood pressure... although I'm sure that the Daily Mail will soon announce that it causes cancer.

Maybe my taste buds are dulled... to me most hot drinks don't have much in the way of flavour :-/
To your good health Sir! :D

i've got a few more to try apparently kukicha tea (i think thats spelled right?) is really good for you as well but its made from sticks and so is ginger tea. reckon the ginger tea might actually taste of something

i don't drink regular tea either southey there's an old family video of me trying it when i was a toddler and i spit it quite an impressive distance for a 3 year old. i figured maybe my tastebuds might have changed because i never used to like tomatoes, carrots or eggs and i love them now

Ha !, thats nothing, i once made nettle tea, it looked and smelt like pee, but tasted far, far worse(not that i've ever tasted pee...)

I drink a lot of tea; last count there were nearly 100 varieties in the tins/drawers, and the rarest ones there are green.
I like tea, I really do, but do yourselves a favour, find a good Oolong, or gunpowder, or a white tea, maybe with something like pomegrante, or even a rooiboos, and it'll do you every bit as much good but it'll taste a hang of a lot better than green :yuck:
Green tea always needs me needing a munchy too. How come none of the others do ?

Nettle tea is very good, if fresh and not made from foosty old leaves, but it's better with a bit of mint added :)

cheers,
Toddy

I've tried gunpowder tea three times from the same pack and every time I've hardly slept a wink ! At this very moment I'm having a clipper organic white tea with peppermint, (It tastes like After-eight mints, bet it would even more with a chocolate biscuit!)

Green tea doesn't burn fat unfortunatly (only exercise can do that) :D but it is an antioxydant, so helps ya with your free radicals. :)

actually the antioxidents speed up your metabolism increasing the amount of fat burned I've done my research. So does capsaicin (chilies) caffeine and chromium.

I just pestered my 16 year old to put the kettle on , she has now said she is off to bed so i don't ask her to make me a cuppa .

Oh well i better get it myself , nice strong cup of tetley .

The wife on the other hand is drinking tetley green lemon tea :yuck:
