Hiya all (first thread)

Does anyone remember a publication called Survival Weaponry & Techniques from way back in the late 1980's?

Well if you do, there was an advertisement for a shirt called the 'Survivor Shirt'. It was khaki in colour, long sleeves with sleeve tabs, a small pocket on the left sleeve, epaullettes, the right shoulder was padded, two breast pockets and had a cartridge holder above the left breast pocket. It was I believe made in China.

I had one of these shirts and loved it. Alas, I cannot seem to track them down now.

Does anyone have any ideas of where I can obtain one or if they are still being made?

Thanks in advance.

I remember the magazine well, half of it was interesting and valid like shelter building, fire lighting, foraging and tests of outdoor gear, then youd turn the page to find articals such as how to make your own ghillie suits, and field tests on a 150 round drum magazine for your AK47 lol.

Sorry i dont remember the shirt tho

"Throat Slashers Monthly" my dad used to call it! (I still lived at home in the 80's!)

I think he would have preferred to see "Gentleman's Literature" rather than SWaT!

ahhhhhhhhhhh combat and survival, i flung them all out only a few years ago. God i feel old

That was a different magazine altogether I believe. Survival Weaponry & Techniques (SWAT) was more of a Survivalists magazine along the US lines but aimed at UK readership. I still have two of the annuals they did from 1987 and 1989. I must have missed the 1988 one.

You were not, perchance, the fellow who made a "Bull Boat to the method I described, but using a deer hide instead of a bull's skin were you?
