Sumac Spoon

One of my neighbours had to remove a tree that was rotten at the base, so I asked if I could have a few pieces and as a thank you I made them this. First time carving Sumac and was surprised at the characteristics of the wood, how it carved and how light it was.

All of the sumac around me in New England is pretty pithy and not very thick, how large was this tree?

Robson I think it is Staghorn Sumac.
