Spalted Birch that's just about viable for carving, probably better suited as a decorative spoon than a user.

This is another one that i carved a while ago, but looking at it i found it a bit chunky monkey, so figured with nothing better to do, id fettle it a bit and reduce the chunky aspects, but leaving enough 'meat' on it's bones to still retain some modicum of strength.

Nice work Mark, a lovely spoon as usual.

When you do these 'thin down' carvings would you mind doing a before pic as well as I for one (and probably others on here) would like to see what changes you make.
