Wish I was goimg to be there. Look forward to the next meet. I thought it would be nice to start up a membership fee so once a year we could go to the peaks etc. Like a saving fund I guess.

There was atalk about going to norway in the next year or so, I am off to the bushmoot in August, trouble is once you become a group and have mebershipsfees ect the the cost will go up due to thrid party insurances ect, at the more it more a group of just like minded mates getting together. perhaps we should have a natter at this meeting/next one

I am not able to make it, the alternator has failed on my mondeo and the wife has gone away for the weekend so am stuck

Well what a great Two Nighter, in the end Paul, Tony, Kev, Richard, and myself made it....

I picked Tony up and we arrived to see Paul setting up, so we started to set up our pits, shortly after that Kev set up his Trailer tent, we got the group shelter up and Paul got a fire going, kettle was on... the chat started and went on in to the night, out of the Dark appeared Richard from Essex Outbacks, it was nice to meet a new face.

We ventured to bed to wake up to quite a nice brisk day, Richard was the first Up and started a fire, and breakfast was soon under way, after a tidy up Kev, Richard and myself started a bit of spoon carving, then did a bit of steel and flint with a steel Kev had made for me :-), thank you Kev.. think I need some more practice at that, lol....

I tried to make a Bow Drill set out of what wood was there, but struggled with it, Richard Had a nice set in his bag, soon I had a nice coal glowing... shame I dropped it one the floor..... but hey I got there.... but after a few attempts was knackered and gave up.

After that started on the Evening Meal, a nice Beef Stew and dumplings... Tony made a bannock with Gluten Free flour, and my dumpling were made from Gluten free flour as well, The Dumpling went bad but not to keen on the Bread..

Paul had a very nice birthday cake, made by his wife... of course it was cut with a Machette.. :-), the night wore on and it was soon for bed.

This morning was a Strike camp and pack up , wend our way home and the washing starts, It was a great weekend with a nice bunch of guys thank you for the weekend guys, hope you like the pic's I will put more up later.

Oh Kev I have got the Tarp that you forgot to take with you..

Yeah we cot a great group of people attending now, having great fun and practising skills.. we have been talking about having an April meet being in the woods at Rendlesham next month.

If there was call I may book another night at Orchards

Really sorry I missed it, guys. I've been very unwell since my neck injury last week.
It's actually a good job I didn't show up because one of my whoopie slings has somehow randomly broken and now no longer has the larger loop (I've honestly no idea how the hell it's happened, especially as it went straight back into the stuff sack after I last used it and has been sat there until I took it out today)

I'm planning to go out next weekend on my private woodland if anyone wants to join me (and assuming I can get DD Hammocks to replace the somehow-busted whoopie sling)?

Hi mate, I guess the big loop has simply pulled through the inside of the cord. The service at dd is great though. We had a great time.
