Yeah thats thew Place.... only open 3 days a week ,and short hrs as well........
http://www.perrisarchery.co.uk/location.htm

I went there one lunch time , and the prices, lets say are High... the price for the BuckTrail Blackhawk is £120 everywhere else is £83 to £89, 12 POC arrows are £67

they only have about 3 flatbows, and three long bows, and a couple of re-enactment bows.... limited stock from what I saw.. and taht was confrimed when I spoke to them, but they can get stock over from the other shop.....

For a 12 arrow package with the bow was £190ish

From CB archerysame arrows and bow is £128 ish plus £10 postage... total £138

The tarp could be mine, I remember bringing it on one of the sessions and haven't seen it recently. I just assumed it was hiding in the corner of the attic somwhere cant remember what guy lines I put on it but they are luminous yellow or desert/coyote brown paracord, that sounds right.

Of course it could be Kev's and mine is still in the loft somewhere!

90% sure I'll be there for the next meet. I'll put my name down when I'm sure. I'll bring my cattys as well. Have a new one from the guy in texas that isn't a left hander only.

OK np problem mate, i'll keep the tarp in the back, see you soon :)

Debenham,Suffolk.
Hi, yeah not the best prices or gear but it can help to hold the bow to see if it is what you are after, but you are correct I wouldn't buy from them. At the time I got my Metis bow it was £98, I was able to pick which weight I wanted to shoot with the handful of shop arrows they had which worked out for me, I had traveled to one of the quicks shops for a bow I wanted, it was me and two best mates that went, both my mates came away with a bow but the bow I wanted was rubbish in the hand, that trip saved me £215.
Perris seem to cater for the compound archer more than anything. Haven't been for over 5 years but thought it may help...
If anyone is near Debenham and wants to try any of my bows drop me a PM and we can try and work something out???
I also have a handful of 3d targets that are sitting around here and at the out laws that i could maybe give up one for the group if you haven't got any yet??????

Yeah I did think that myself they do have a good selection of compounds, and some take downs, they also seem more intersted in selling somthing there and then then helping someone, they only had 30lb flat bows in said they could get them in for me , then served someone else...

we have spoken about getting a couple of targets, but depends on what others want to do and see how things go.

I am looking forward to doing the course, should happen during september and with luck it wont be when i should be camping. I am lucly in that I am surounded by meadows, so practice will be quite easy if I can get permission of the landowner to put up a target

Depends on how much paddling you want to do and where. Inflatables are great for the putting in the boot thing. But take a while to inflate when you get there and are nowhere near as fast or nice to paddle as a plastic/royalex boat. If you are just going for the occassional family cruise it should be fine, but if you want to do expeditions in it, or willl use it regularly you would be better with a plastic one.

If you aren't in a rush, autumn and winter are the best time for bargains on ebay. You could also try nucleus watersports in clacton. They often have second hand stuff that comes in, and will give you good advice.

I you have a link to the boat I could have a look if you like, but have only paddled and inflatable a couple of times (as I hated them)

I have access to a few plastic and royalex canoes, one my own and some I could borrow from Colchester canoe club, in case you want to try some out.

Hope that helps

John
