Thanks No 1. I haven't quite made my mind up yet as to which inflatable pad to bring I have a 3\4 British army unit or one I bought from lidl but its about the same size as Simons boat.

That does make me recognize that I won't need to take my hammock or inflating mat anymore when going out in the inflatable canoe... since it's the perfect bed as well as boat (out of the water, I mean. I'm crazy, but not stupid!)
I might even be tempted to ditch the tent and rough it
I was thinking just a small tarp to go over the thing, blanket or sleeping bag (temperature dependent) inside and a nice comfy sleep.
Definitely worth trying out... probably in early spring
I'm hoping to try out two sleeping bags one is down filled and the second is a US army unit, if the weather is constant it would be an ideal opportunity to compear them. Quite looking forward to sleeping under a tarp and turning over in the morning to light my stove to have the first brew of the day without getting out of my bed.

Aye... winter might start late this year, but I don't for one second doubt it's coming!

Cheers Stu... just wanted to be sure. Wouldn't want to turn up on the Thursday and spend a night there on my own (though to be honest I personally wouldn't give a damn about an extra night alone)
Sounds like the same system I have here, but I will try all 3 bags, so I can try it at its best / highest thermal value.
