Right. Time to start getting excited.
Only one more shift until the weekend. Unfortunately it doesn't finish until 9pm Friday otherwise I would be doing both nights.

All I need to think about is food.

Hi all,
I would very much like to come along hopefully I will have a celebratory meal friday and can head over on sat. So i'll copy and paste myself into the attending list and group meal if it's not too late. I'm on phone now so a bit fiddly. The eternal kit and packing debate begins :)

I've been packing for days, and trying to get my pack smaller, with some success, but with the razors and the chilli, I'm still going to bring another bag! BUt I must say that I'm excited to get out for a two-nighter. All those meals to cook!!

That's the spirit.

I got myself a new pen knife this week. The flat ground Enzo PK70. I've been playing around with the edge geometry trying to find the best angles.
It's my first knife in CPM S30V and have to say its an amazing steel. So... To really see what this little UK legal slip joint can really do... (And I can hardly believe I'm going to say this) it's the only knife I will be bringing with me for the weekend.

I've looked at those Enzos and they looked pretty good! I'm bring some hones, and probably a strop. You're more than welcome to them.

They are great knives. I have a few issues. But over all its amazing. For a uk legal carry at least.
If I'm only bringing the one knife I will probably need to keep touching uk the edge so i don't have too much work when I get home.
I wouldt mind trying a couple of different hones. I rairely use them but maybe I should.

One knife is pretty hardcore… I'd really struggle to do that. Bringing stuff is half the fun, knives especially! But frankly, I rarely use my SAK.

Stu and Carl are looking at straight razors, so I'm bringing a couple along with the some of the sharpening stuff. So much for the gear bag getting smaller :)

Happy Days, theres a chance that this weekends work is going to be called off,
so I may be able to make it for the full weekend after all.
We won't know until tomorrow what's happening, so I'm going to pack my bag in anticipation,
got to work tonight and probably tomorrow for part of the day.
So if its called off, then I could be there for late afternoon.

Stu, could you text me if we can drive down to drop off please.

Hi Guys, gutted I'm missing this one, family commitments and work........... I love the sound of the chilli too. I hope you all have a great weekend and look forward to seeing some pics

Take care and have fun all.

Toby

I was thinking of doing it last time and actually did almost everything with my Longstrider neck knife. Plus it'll teach me it use my axe properly.

My theory is that you only need a small knife and an axe unless your butchering deer.

OK mate, thats a shame, no problem, see you soon

why whould you need more the a small knife and axe to butcher a deer??.. in theory and practice all you need a a bit of flint... :), so should be able to do it with a small knife and an axe.. :)
