And another thing…. (I'm on a roll this morning)…. if anyone wants to pick up a knife kit from brisa.fi and spend the weekend with glue, clamps and files finishing the damn thing, then I would certainly try it. I'm not particularly good at that sort of stuff, and having someone else around suffering through it at the same time would be both fun and helpful.

I'll be there, but will give the group meal a miss. Could someone send a text and let me know if it's suitable to take my fair weather 4x4 across the field?

As far as skill share is concerned. We could do a paracord weaving type one. I was holding back on it as I think everyone knows how to do a cobra weave bracelet. I have made a sling (as in David and Goliath not broken arm) and a belt before. But theres always the tricky bit of materials. Slings are about 12 foot of cord and the belt was about 60 foot. (More or less depending on waistline!) any thoughts?

Hi folks

Would another bod be welcome at the weekend?

Been away from the woods for a while but reawakened in recent months and about time I was back out again!

Let me know?

Cheers

Fraid its not looking good for the weekend, work raising its ugly head again, but who knows I may just appear through the woods, if I finish early enough.
Hope you have a good weekend Gents.

It's going to be cold this weekend… frost on the ground according to the Met Office, which of course makes it perfect for Green Chilli and a big campfire.

Looks like plans to use a lighter/less bulky liner/ sleeping bag set-up are to be abandoned then, out comes the 'bulky weights a tonne, but warm as Hades' surplus arctic bag again!

Nothing like waking up to a frosty dawn, so beautiful, especially when you can get the first brew on without crawling out of your bag!

Can't wait, new woodgas stove to try, new knife to try (an unexpected present from my Son), my first batch of char-cloth to try, and I now own two firesteels and a collection of flint to play with too! Happy Days!

Does anyone have the gear to sharpen a serrated blade? My SAK is serrated and needs a clean up.

Is it one of the victorinox new solders? They are strange serrations. I would sharpen pretending they are but there and eventually you'll be left with a real blade.
But yes, I do have a rod you can try.

To all swingers...

My under blanket and whoopie slings arrived today. I'd really appreciate 20mins of someone's time who knows how to use them. I'm not going to get a chance to get out and test it all out, so I'm going to have to just bring them with me.

Also, this is one of the new DD hammocks under blanket that that have only just released, so feel free to come and have a gander if your thinking of buying one. £49 verses £90 for the snug pack one. Could be a bargain.
