Storm Éowyn

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I recall when very small being taken by my Grandfather a few streets over.

There was a caravan upside down in a garden.

I was told it belonged to next door, blown over by a freak tornado.

These things you remember.

Got a message back from my Cornish friends.

They are OK but some campsites down the road have had it bad; statics over and all, a lot of tiles missing.

The storm was very noisy and there was lightning.

It was a bad storm for them in North Cornwall.

There are eight houses in our street of forty houses with roofs being repaired. Another seven have fences down and two have trees that have sort of shattered. Two cars damaged in the next street round from debris (tree and kids playground frame thing that uprooted and blew over).

It might seem a lot of hot air to some, but the reality is that this has been an expensive storm for many and we were fortunate that no one locally was hurt or killed.

Trains mostly back on but there are still severe issues in some areas. Side roads still being cleared.
