I use a Sigg Box for small amounts of food because of a crushing incident when falling over once :) I tend to carry larger amounts of food in large ice cream tubs, available from all good ice cream vendors, such as post offices :) Another alternative is to carry your food inside your mess tins or bill cans, rather than to stack them and carry the food in something else.

A friend of mine uses a special red sigg for his unleaded for his pump stove. I guess it depends how much fluid you want to carry. There are plenty of tough plastic bottles and even cheap hip flasks, just don't get them mixed up.

I've never carried hexitabs, but I have carried citronella candles, which also stink. I've yet to find a better solution than putting them in a sarnie bag, in a box, in a carrier bag. Nothing else seems to keep the smell in. If I had the kit, I'd vacuum pack them.
