A lad on another furum has asked me to make a fly cast holder for his Dads birthday ( no pressure then ! ) each cast holder is the size of a CD and this holds 10. My first attempt at wet forming so wish me luck !!

For the next one, it might be best to put something underneath those clips as they'll probably leave marks in the wet leather but looking good nonetheless!

Spandit, you are so right ! i'm hoping that the stitching will hide most of the marks and the polish / finish mask the rest :(

if you were to wet it and clamp it again, but maybe in a vice or similar, wouldn't you be able to sort of sqeeze the marks out? just an idea, someone might come along and tell me why it won't work in a second

cheers

That looks like a cracking first attempt. Cheers

I think it's the fly plus a length of line already attached so you just loop it onto your fly line. A cast holder keeps several different ones organised & stops them getting tangled
