Hi I've got a mora that has served me well for the past year. Cut myself with it today for the first time, I think its jealous that I got a Helle Fjellkniven.

The mora's been and still is a brilliant knife, and has done everything I've asked of it. The helle is lovely though the handle may be just a bit on the small side, and my hands aren't overly big.

Bought it from Bassin31 on ebay.

And saved quite a bit of money on it, the service was faultless. I'd check him out.

I thought the Fjellkniven has the same blade as an 'Eggen', but the Eggen has a larger handle for those of us with JCB buckets on the end of our arms. I've decided to go for a Mora with the natural beech handle, but i've been told that there are ways to improve the handle and it's attachment to the narrow tang, any ideas anyone?
I'm also thinking about an EKA W11. I've been offered a new one for £30 and i figured that as it's blade is 5" long and the mora is 3.5" long then i would have the versatility for most things. Complement that pairing with a golok and folding saw, i should be able to tackle most things!

Does anyone know of any bushcraft 'Clubs' in South Wales? Or any anywhere for that matter? You know, like minded people, chatting and giving advice.

Your views on the above would be well recieved, thanks.

Keep an eye on the "Meet Ups" Section, there's often small gatherings around south Wales. Also wait for the summer moot at Merthyr Mawr - well worth going to. ;)

If I hadn't become so enamoured of the various Grohmann belt knives I would be recomending the Helle Fjelkniven that I got from Ragnar over at Ragweed forge

http://www.ragweedforge.com/HelleCatalog.html

For about 24 quid its a hell of a knife and the service was excellent, I think thats the one I ordered one day and had it in my grubby mitts 4 days later, which ain't bad since it had to cross the Atlantic. He even dropped the point for me as I'd been looking for something with that profile.

Could some one please put up a pic for me as I can't get them to be a reasonable size?

PS does anyone know of a supplier of the metal stamps used for marking the wooden handles of tools? I've a lot of chisels and gouges to mark so carving my name into the handles isn't realy a option.
