Oystercatcher in pairs. Small birds flocking through the hedges and trees. Lovely.

3x Mallards in our garden, 1 female/2 males. They have been around for as few weeks. Found a nest with 8x eggs in it too, tucked in a very quiet corner of our garden. Odd because we dont have much/any open water bigger than a seed tray.

The garden and woodland are full of birdsong just now :)
Everything from the usual sparrows to nuthatches. The crows are busy doing the annual territorial battle with the magpies though. Noisy both of those.

There's a lot of colour about. The lesser celandines are starting to bloom, we still have Christmas roses and snowdrops too. Daffs are out, and so is the pulmonaria and the primroses.
It's been really wet today, but it's been a lovely Spring otherwise :)

Just had the first swallow of the year chattering and swooping overhead. I wonder if its one of the ones that nested in our garage last year.
