Spoon mule

So, yesterday's wee project was to finish and use my spoon mule. Made from offcuts and an old chair, it works better than I expected. Planning some add ons for it now, including a shave horse attachment and maybe a bowl carving attachment too.

It's been doing the job so far. Finally trying out my Robin Wood spoon knife. Not too impressed with the blade so far, but not sure I have the skill to refine it properly.
Definitely a learning curve to sharpening curved blades.

Then it's just refining the spoons themselves

Aha... so that's how it works. I did wonder

Are the clamps hinged by a pin or do the free float for quick adjustment?

I've drilled an elongated hole through the clamps and they pivot on a tent peg that goes through the whole thing
