Interesting, i'm not claiming to be any kind of expert here. Just going off what i'v seen on t.v and gleaned from non b.s'ing type ex squaddies

We have an agreement with the Nepal government that we do not recruit from Kathmandu valley.

So if an educated Nepali from Kathmandu wants to join the British Army (because the conditions, pay and pension is better than the alternatives) then he gives an address elsewhere and travels to that region for selection.

I often wonder who is exploiting who, certainly St Joanna of Kathmando only gives one side of the story.
