"Mounted Shooting" is a common event at rodeo in North America. Normally done with a pair of .45 wheel guns against the clock.
Kind of a barrel-racing event with shooting added.

Never seen that yet at any of the rodeos I've been to. I mostly get to the smaller ones. The only larger rodeos I've been to were the Dixie national (relatively regularly) and the National Finals (once, long ago)

Maybe Mounted Shooting is more popular in the Pacific Northwest. Friend's daughter appears to be quite successful.
The pictures look crazy = 2 x .45's, blazing away. The loads are really soft as the distances are 10-15' or less as I recall.
