Just saw this on BCUSA so thought I'd share
"The Buzz Killer"

Made similar to this. Apparently the instructions were

Take a metal bottle cap, smash it flat, nail 2 holes in it, string it

Brilliant idea and an application we had never thought of as we use the idea for a children's toy.

The principle of rotating by pulling strings is at least five thousand years old. Used for children's toys over that perioid. Known today as snoring bones one makes two holes in a pig metatarsal (finger type bone) threads a sinew through. Wind up by spinning between the hands and then start pulling. Other holes can be drilled to make different sounds. Impresses visitors to our displays especially when we tell them how long children have been playing with these.
