There are days I am beyond glad I'm vegetarian :)

What on earth were you looking for to find that ? Supposedly tasty and protein rich though.
Me ? I feed that stuff to the birds.

A collegue at work finds great joy in finding aisan street food for us to try

I gave spider and scopion a try last time - pretty pointless to be honest - vurtually no flavour or texture

Wonder if they're hookable? :)

Judging by the final entry on their list, possibly not.

I have eaten fried bugs in Thailand - crispy and salty ... OK but not great...
I have eaten cooked worms and spiders in the UK and they too are OK...
I have eaten snails in France, shellfish in Europe and the UK and tofu in Thailand - horrible!

......but tofu's good :D

Really, I like it :D It's tasty, adaptable, easily flavoured, can be creamy, chewy or crispy, sweet, sour or savoury, it's the ultimate low weight, high protein food......and it doesn't go rancid like jerky can either.

 though in this company I'd be better offering the bird food I suppose :)
Do you think those crispy critter things smell as bad as the dried mealworms I feed the birds ? :yuck:

cheers,
M

It's slightly bean flavoured, but it takes up other flavours and it can be made in many different textures too.

I'm planning to grow our own soya next year (as well as Haricot and Dutch Brown) - I propose a thread on "ten better things than tofu to do with a soya bean" :D
