Sleeve pockets

I had to look up what an Embassy pen was. Very nice but at those prices I'd be afraid to take it bush crafting, or put it in a sleeve pocket, for fear of losing it!
Yes, expensive (£84 from Heinnie); but very, very strong. At a push, it could be put in a lark's head to make a handle for pulling or hoisting a load. I've not seen any figures as to its resistance but I reckon it would withstand 30kg easily.

And I discovered a number of years ago that if something is dirt cheap to replace, I unconsciously pay so little attention to it that I lose it.

So about twenty years ago, on a trip to London, I bought myself a genuine Knirps folding umbrella, after having lost a half dozen cheap and nasty €4 things. But I seem to have followed your logic, @Falstaff, because it's only been out of the house half a dozen times.
