Borgel Trench Watch
Francois Borgel Trench Watch (company actually run by his daughter Louisa after 1912).

Imported by Robert Pringle and Sons (using Arthur George Rendell as the named importer) in 1915/16. Assayed in the London assay office, 925 Silver

With a General Watch Co Helvetia 15 jewel Swiss Movement which includes a bimetallic temperature compensation balance

It is a Depose No 9846 design (registered design) which would have used a strap with a pad behind the watch and requiring a special buckle that was not sewn on.

I have a second hand for it that I must fit! and I'm in the process of making a repro strap. It gets my Geiger counter excited

I think I must point out that this is not a genuine old Smiths.
Smiths stopped making watches in late 70´s. In the 90´s Timefactor bought the right to the brand and
bought swiss movements and started remaking Smiths.
My watch was bought 2013.

This seems to do the job for me, I do wear a Garmin as well. But they is only for the GPS function.

Pulsar Gen 1 chrono. Noughties to early Twenty Tens I think. Came to me with smashed crystal, bent hands and some nasty gouges on the case. It's still not 100% the hour hand isn't quite flat, but as I'm never likely to sell it, it'll do!

I recently bought the Lorus civilian version of this watch for £59. Decent watch for the money.

That's actually based off the Gen.2, the one that replaced mine. It's a nicer watch in most respects (I have one of them too!). I like the Gen.1 because it's smaller.

I tend to wear the leather strap watch as it’s more comfortable but if I need something more rugged (hunting etc) I wear the metal strap one!

I used to work with ex Navy Officer Pilot types and they said they used to play conkers with the Pussers issue Seiko Chronographs!

The Seikos are now changing hands for absolutely silly money. As someone else pointed out the difference in the 'civvy' and the issue Pulsar is a couple of hundred quid. Supply and demand.

I have but one.
And really enjoy it.
Whilst any watch can be used as a compass with sight of the sun, this one ups the anti with an extra internal rotating bezel. Great fun (and educational) when out and about with my boys.

Trits all over the shop and solar powered to boot

I like the Baltany watch, third from the top. It looks like an updated homage to the watches commissioned from 'The Dirty Dozen' watchmakers for issue to service personnel from about 1944.

Had afew mates over last night and I asked 1 of them to get something out of my room for me.
And he spotted my watch collection and well he came down with what I asked him to get then said how many ''expletive'' wrists do you have.
Then everyone 1 asked what?.
So I gave in and took some picture's for then to see.
And yes they mocked me as well.

I'd like to show but what remains are not in the best shape as I only tend to replace them when I have killed my existing.

These two travel with me. Seiko Turtle from my birth year (let’s just say it’s over 40!) and Tudor Bronze Bay. Both on Erika’s Originals Marine Nationale straps - which I highly recommend.
