Ok, 60 odd views and no replies. Probably wrong place to ask. Will try another forum.

You have to consider that there are thousands of members and guests on this forum so 60 views is a very small proportion of people who are just interested in your post for interests sake. Rather than people who can offer advice. Give it time and I am sure there will be some great advice.

Can't find the original. It doesn't appear in your posts unless i've missed it. I have taken a sheepskin out and used it in my hammock worked great but a bit bulky.

Hi Marco,
I'm afraid I'm not a leather worker so I can't help you. But I do use sheepskin and may be up for heavier ones as there's a fair bit of basecamp stuff involved. But it sounds like there are other worries with the veg tanned, like looking after it and having to buy in the materials. Which is kinder on your environment? Though from what I do know of tanning there's nowt too nice no matter what path you go down.
I'm sure some of the folks on here will help, you may just have to bump and re-ask a couple of times. Plus getting it in the right thread slot helps a lot with answers. One of the Mods may be able to help you there, they're very nice folk.
Good luck and what a wonderfull place to live. (Blinking cold and windswept I know but if you have an interest in history!!!)
