Shedheads

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I do not have a shed of my own but I do have a garage (with a car in it, for some odd reason) and an old caravan.

Ask around, you can get an old caravan for nothing.

I also have a big three bedroomed house with an attic and a half attic over the outhouse.

I really dont need a shed...

heh. I even managed to get my shed into 'Grand Designs' Magazine :)

there's the photo of me and my shed that they published on my blog [http://lostcoast.blogspot.com/ if you feel compelled to take a look]

It felt a bit surreal being asked about a shed I'd salvaged and then extended with what was essentially firewood. Of course what they eventually printed had the benefit of some creative free thinking......

Well I've just counted them up and I've realised I've got ten sheds

two pig sheds, one chicken shed - with no chickens but a bunch of hams, three wood sheds, two junk sheds, one storage shed and my workshop.

The workshop is about 18ft by 10ft and also houses the freezers as well as my workbenches and all my tools. The pig sheds house pigs, I store the bikes in the chicken shed and hang a bunch of hams in there too. The wood sheds are for storing wood, the junk sheds store junk and the storage shed has got all our outdoor gear plus everything from an old Rayburn stove to a spare front door.

I need more sheds.

Anyone got a garden shed?
Anyone build one of their own or buy a cheepish one?. I have a funny craving for a shed :D . Not that i will definately get one but wouldn't it be nice to store all your bushcraft stuff in with a nice log burning stove.
if you have any pictures to satisfy my fleeting shedheadness that would be great :)
Maybe brew some wine or beer and carve spoons in when the weather is bad. Or just a realy cool place to go adorned with all your favourite bushcraft stuff.

I'd love to have an outdoor workshop. I do have a workshop in the basement, but it is not sufficient for really large items. I do have a sauna, a garage, a bunkhouse (with fireplace and wood range), a summer kitchen, and two storage sheds - but none of them are really what you would call a workshop. I sometimes move the vehicles out of the garage and build things (like canoes), but it would be nice to have a workshop.

We are considering building a two story garage at our shack up in the woods, but there is no electricity, for power tools, there.
