I paid a visit to my ex landlord last night to take up a trout I'd caught and as I was coming down the track I could see him leaning over the fence.
He waved at me and pointed to the ground where I saw a wild rabbit so I slowed down.
I got out and he told me that the chap who lives in a caravan on the farm had a pet rabbit that escaped and mated with a buck. The rabbit had 8 offspring, all died apart from one which he took up across the fields and set free.
That rabbit spends all its time living wild with the other ones except when my ex landlord comes to the fence and calls it, all the others scarper and the rabbit comes over to be hand fed before going back to the bury with the others.
Never seen anything like it before.

Folks think rabbits are brainless, but they learn, especially when young.
My pet ones came when I whistled :D

cheers,

My old one responded to hand signals. Wee thing had a wicked sense of humour too, loved winding me up.. lol and I always fell for it.
