Try to keep your chin up and make sure that your family get the support they need during the investigation. Make sure they (and you) don't bottle up their feelings. I'm involved in a criminal investigation at the moment, I'm one of the good guys and it is nowhere near as serious as the loss of a life, but I can tell you its not pleasant for anyone concerned.
