rowan wood handles

i am in the middle of cutting down a rowan tree in my back garden as my mum wants the garden flagging. can any of this wood be used to make a handle for my recently aquired knife blade? it has a mortice type tang, what glue would be used to hold the hnadle to the tang? cheers

You'll need to season is properly, but Ash is commonly used for tool handles because of it's strength and the fact it doesn't splinter easily.

Once seasoned it should do a great job.

hmm, rowan. Sounds like it should be fine I've used ash, but I confess I've never looked at rowan so I don't know if it's any different as a wood? Gotta pic?

Re glue. Use decent (ie not shop own brand or quick setting) epoxy. the slower the setting time the better. generally
