i am in the middle of cutting down a rowan tree in my back garden as my mum wants the garden flagging. can any of this wood be used to make a handle for my recently aquired knife blade? it has a mortice type tang, what glue would be used to hold the hnadle to the tang? cheers

hmm, rowan. Sounds like it should be fine :) I've used ash, but I confess I've never looked at rowan so I don't know if it's any different as a wood? Gotta pic?

Re glue. Use decent (ie not shop own brand or quick setting) epoxy. the slower the setting time the better. generally ;)
