Well it's proved to be so popular with friends and family, I'm making another batch twice the size.
Good stuff 
Mine finished straining this afternoon. I have six litres to turn into jelly (measure in litres because sugar comes in kilo bags)....and the rasps are still giving me half a pound a day, and even though we're eating a lot of them, I've got ten pounds of rasps to turn into more jelly and syrup. No one but me seems to like raspberry jam

I love raspberry jam.
Everyone else just seems to want jelly. Same with brambles. I like the jam though.
I give over half of what I make away to friends and family. I really cut down the amount of fruit I grew, without children in the house we just don't eat near as much anyway.
I give some to a friend who has a pear tree and she gives me a basket of the pears...which I love. I dry some and make fruit leather and spreads with them. Best bit is that pears make fruit leather and spread without needing any sugar added, so it's a win/win. I wish I'd planted a pear tree twenty years ago.
I give some to the man who gathers sloes for me when he's out and about, and he gives Himself venison and pigeons, occasionally duck and geese too. He has a sweet tooth and his missus won't make jam, so it's a kind of barter. I split the sloe gin I make with him and I repair and alter his hunting/shooting/fishing clothing too to try to balance things a bit more fairly.
I like these kind of informal barter arrangements Everybody gets what they want

I love the barter system. It works without money . What could be better? It's how it once was. You can never be realy poor if you have a skill to barter with. I encouraged my son to learn the guitar so that if he ever became homeless he could still earn some money. He also learned juggling and used to take himself off to the sea front every day at Sidmouth folk festival and put his hat out. Came back with £20 for one afternoons juggling.
He was about 11 yrs old then.
